Sometimes new clients feel awkward telling a stranger about what they’re needing to talk about.

My goal is to develop a connection with clients to help feel safe in discussing what might be bothering them by sharing a little bit about my work history, how I like to work, and where I can be flexible in meeting their therapeutic needs within sessions.

My goal is to help clients feel safe and comfortable getting to the issues that bother them the most, knowing that they’re leading the mental health journey with support from a professional.

I'm a Registered Social Worker from Winnipeg, Manitoba, with a Master’s degree in Social Work, and I'm currently pursuing my Doctorate of Social Work at Simmons University. I consider myself a bit of a generalist when it comes to supporting people, but I have particular expertise in areas such as disability, workplace stress, burnout, end of life, grief and bereavement, life transitions, and recovery following disasters.

Spending time reading, being out in nature, or connecting with the people I care about brings me a sense of ease. I feel most grounded when I can slow down and be fully present in the moment.

I’ve had a bit of a Forest Gump-style life—full of travel, unexpected adventures, and meeting interesting people from all walks of life, both internationally and closer to home.

Over the past twenty-five years, I’ve had the privilege of working with a range of organizations, including international aid organizations (focused on refugee and landmine-related issues), the Province of Manitoba, March of Dimes Canada, Shared Health (Medical Assistance in Dying), Manitoba Blue Cross EAP, and Help Clinic Canada. I’ve also had the opportunity to volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross through their Restoring Family Links Program and Detainee Monitoring Program.
