Pursuing a 4-Year BA in Psychology

I’m Afrishem, a final-year Psychology student at the University of Winnipeg. For me, psychology has always felt like a kind of magic — the way we can understand, support, and help people heal through connection, empathy, and insight is truly powerful. That’s what drew me to this field, and it’s what continues to inspire me every day.

As part of my Applied Psychology course, I’m currently doing my volunteer placement at Orion Wellness. I’m so grateful to be part of a space where I can learn firsthand what compassionate, client-centered mental health care looks like. I’m especially interested in working with children and youth, and I’m excited to explore how healing really happens in a clinical setting.

Outside of school, I love cozy cafés, journaling, long walks, skincare routines, and quiet moments that feel like little bits of magic too.
